Oflomil 50 MG Suspension can cause side effects like diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, nausea, and vomiting. Consult your doctor if these side effects persist or become worse. Avoid activities that require mental focus like driving vehicles and operating machines as this medicine may cause dizziness.
Oflomil 50 MG Suspension can be taken with or without food as prescribed by your doctor. Take this medicine at the same time every day for the ease of remembering. Complete the whole course of treatment for maximum benefit and to prevent the risk of re-infection.
Oflomil 50 MG Suspension is not recommended for use if you are allergic to it. Avoid taking this medicine if you have tendinitis (a condition that causes swelling of the tissues that attach bones with muscles) or myasthenia gravis (a condition that causes severe weakness of the muscles under voluntary control).
Oflomil 50 MG Suspension should be used with caution if you have liver or kidney problems. Report all your medicines to your doctor as they may interact with Oflomil 50 MG Suspension and cause side effects. If you are pregnant or are breastfeeding, consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
Oflomil 50 MG Suspension works by stopping the action of a bacterial enzyme called DNA-gyrase. This prevents the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing them.
Ofloxacin is mainly eliminated by renal excretion, where between 65% and 80% of an administered oral dose of ofloxacin is excreted unchanged via urine within 48 hours of dosing. About 4-8% of an ofloxacin dose is excreted in the feces and the drug is minimally subject to biliary excretion.

Drug Interactions
Drug-drug interaction: This medicine may have an interaction with blood thinners (aspirin, warfarin), antidepressants and antipsychotics (clozapine, olanzapine), caffeine-containing medications, insulin, or other anti-diabetic medications (chlorpropamide, glimepiride, glipizide, glyburide, metformin, tolazamide, and tolbutamide), medications for regulating irregular heartbeat (amiodarone, disopyramide, procainamide, quinidine), pain killers (ibuprofen, naproxen). Take OFLOXACIN either 2 hours before or 2 hours after taking an antacid, multivitamin, or other product that has calcium/magnesium/aluminum/iron/zinc, antiulcer agent (sucralfate), or anti-HIV drug (didanosine).
Drug-Food Interaction: OFLOXACIN interacts with dairy products (milk or yogurt) or calcium-fortified juices alone.
Drug-Disease Interaction: Inform your doctor if you have or have ever had tendon rupture, musculoskeletal problem (myopathy, rhabdomyolysis), kidney/heart/lung transplant, low blood potassium (hypokalemia), kidney disease, rheumatoid arthritis, seizures (fits), epilepsy or any other neurological disorder if you participate in regular physical activity before starting OFLOXACIN.

Do not skip any dose of Oflomil 50 MG Suspension. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose time is near, skip the missed dose and take your next scheduled dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.
Never take more than the prescribed dose. Seek emergency medical attention if you suspect that you might have taken an overdose of Oflomil 50 MG Suspension.
Take Oflomil 50 MG Suspension as instructed by your doctor. Drink plenty of water with it to avoid stomach irritation. Shake the bottle well before use.
Oflomil 50 MG Suspension is given for a short period. Hence, it is important to complete the whole treatment for maximum benefits.
Avoid consuming dairy products and drinking alcohol while taking Oflomil 50 MG Suspension as it reduces the efficiency of this medicine.
Check the expiry date before using Oflomil 50 MG Suspension. Throw the unused medicine safely after the expiry date. Keep it away from children and pets.
Consult your doctor if your condition is not improving or getting worse after taking a few doses of Oflomil 50 MG Suspension.

UTIs are caused by bacteria and in some cases, viruses or fungi. Oflomil 50 MG Suspension is used to treat urinary tract infections caused by bacteria.
Pyelonephritis
Pyelonephritis is the swelling of the kidneys due to bacterial infection. This infection starts in your urethra or bladder and spreads through the ureters to the kidneys. Oflomil 50 MG Suspension is used to treat pyelonephritis. You will start feeling better within a few days after taking Oflomil 50 MG Suspension.
Cystitis
Cystitis is the swelling of the urinary bladder usually caused by a bacterial infection. Oflomil 50 MG Suspension is used to treat cystitis caused by bacteria.
Community-Acquired Pneumonia
Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) refers to pneumonia (lung infection) that is acquired in a community setting i.e. outside the hospital. CAP can be bacterial or viral. Oflomil 50 MG Suspension is used to treat CAP caused by bacteria.
Bronchitis
Bronchitis is the swelling and irritation of bronchial tubes that regulates air passage in the lungs. Oflomil 50 MG Suspension is used to treat bronchitis caused by bacteria.
Traveller's diarrhoea
Traveller's diarrhoea is a stomach and intestinal infection that causes loose stools and stomach cramps. Drinking or eating contaminated water or food can lead to this condition. You may pass three or more loose/watery stools in 24 hours. Oflomil 50 MG Suspension is used for the treatment of diarrhoea caused while travelling.
Skin and soft tissue infections
Skin and soft tissue infections occur when bacteria invade your skin and its supporting structures. Oflomil 50 MG Suspension is used to treat all skin infections including abscesses (a painful collection of pus) caused by bacteria.
