Olax 5mg Tablet belongs to a group of medicines called antihistamines. It is used in the treatment of various allergic conditions. It relieves symptoms like itching, swelling, and rashes.
Olax 5mg Tablet should be taken with or without food. The dose may vary depending on what you are taking it for. Take it as it has been prescribed by your doctor. You may need this medicine only on days you have symptoms, or you may need to take it every day to prevent symptoms from happening. If you stop taking it earlier than advised, your symptoms may come back. This medicine is generally very safe.

Olopatadine exhibits two distinct mechanisms of action. It inhibits histamine release from mast cells and is a relatively selective antagonist of H1-receptors. As a result, olopatadine prevents type 1 immediate hypersensitivity reactions.
Following oral administration, about 70% and 17% of the total dose was recovered in the urine and feces, respectively. Following ocular administration, the elimination half-life of olopatadine was 3.4 ± 1.2 hours. In oral pharmacokinetics study, the elimination half-life was reported to be 8 to 12 hours.

PATANOL (olopatadine hydrochloride ophthalmic solution) 0.1 % is contraindicated in persons with a known hypersensitivity to olopatadine hydrochloride or any components of PATANOL. PATANOL (olopatadine hydrochloride ophthalmic solution) 0.1% is for topical use only and not for injection or oral use
Olax 5mg Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Olax 5mg Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.
Olax 5mg Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
PATANOL (olopatadine hydrochloride ophthalmic solution) 0.1 % is indicated for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis. The recommended dose is one drop in each affected eye two times per day at an interval of 6 to 8 hours

Store below 30°C
If you miss a dose of Olax 5mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
