Give Omnacortil Oral Solution to your child with food. The usually prescribed frequency is once daily, preferably in the morning after breakfast. The dose of this medication will depend on your child’s clinical condition, body weight, age, and treatment response. Use Omnacortil Oral Solution only for the recommended duration of time. Do not prolong its use, more than recommended as that may lead to increased side effects. Also, do not stop giving this medicine suddenly. Sudden withdrawal may affect the ongoing treatment and the child may exhibit withdrawal symptoms such as dizziness, vomiting, and thirst. The dose needs to be gradually reduced before stopping it completely. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking Omnacortil Oral Solution, let the child calm down, and then give the same dose again.
Prednisone decreases inflammation via suppression of the migration of polymorphonuclear leukocytes and reversing increased capillary permeability. It also suppresses the immune system by reducing the activity and the volume of the immune system
In humans, the pharmacokinetics of prednisolone is complex. After oral intake, it exhibits rapid absorption and becomes almost completely (80%-100%) available. Peak plasma concentrations reach 1 to 2 hours after oral administration. Distribution of prednisolone is dependent on its protein-binding properties

Do not panic. Unless your child’s doctor has advised a specific regime for your child, give the missed dose as soon as you remember it. Skip the missed dose if it is almost the time for the next dose. Do not give a double dose to catch up and follow the prescribed dosing schedule.

Prefer giving Omnacortil Oral Solution with food as an empty stomach can trigger acidity and gastric reflux.
Do not give this medicine more often or for longer than advised by your doctor.
Your child may be more likely to get new infections. Also, in some cases, old infections may become active. Tell your child’s doctor if you see any signs of an infection such as fever, cough, vomiting, or diarrhea.
Delay vaccination while your child is taking Omnacortil Oral Solution as it may not work well. As soon as your child feels better, the vaccine can be given after consulting a doctor.
Do not stop the medicine abruptly. Seek the doctor’s guidance to taper the dose gradually as sudden withdrawal may result in a steroid withdrawal syndrome.
Always check with your child's doctor before giving any other medications, including those that don't need a prescription (over-the-counter medicines).

Yes, Omnacortil Oral Solution is a steroid medicine also known as glucocorticoids which occur naturally in the body. These glucocorticoids help to maintain health and wellbeing. Omnacortil Oral Solution increases the corticosteroids levels in the body which helps in treating various illnesses involving inflammation (redness, tenderness, heat, and swelling).
Q. Are there any serious side effects while my child is on Omnacortil Oral Solution?
We use medicines to make our children better, but sometimes they may cause some unwanted side effects. However, the occurrence of side effects in the case of short-term use is not commonly observed. Side effects are more likely to appear in case of high dose, increased dose, or any long-term use. The doctor will use the lowest possible dose for as little time as possible to avoid side effects.

Omnacortil Oral Solution can sometimes interact with other medicines or substances. Inform your doctor about any other medicines your child is taking before starting Omnacortil Oral Solution. Also, check with your child’s doctor before giving any medicine to your child.
Q. Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Omnacortil Oral Solution?
It is advised not to get your child vaccinated while they are on treatment with Omnacortil Oral Solution. Let your child recover from the ongoing illness and finish the complete course of the medicine. As soon as a child feels better, even if he or she is on antibiotics, the vaccine can be given after consulting the doctor.
Q. In what conditions should I avoid giving Omnacortil Oral Solution to my child?
Avoid giving Omnacortil Oral Solution if your child is suffering from conditions like cardiac disease or congestive heart failure (except in the presence of active rheumatic carditis), hypertension, thromboembolic disorders, or diabetes mellitus. Omnacortil Oral Solution should also be avoided if your child has a family history of active TB, active herpes infection, osteoporosis, myasthenia gravis, or renal insufficiency.
Q. How can I store Omnacortil Oral Solution at home?
Keep the medicine in a cool dry place out of the reach of children and pets. This will help avoid any accidental intake.
Q. Can Omnacortil Oral Solution cause any behavioral problems?
One of the potential side effects of corticosteroid medicine is mood change, such as irritability which can lead to difficult behavior in some children. When used for the short term, it can increase blood pressure and blood sugar levels, causing some children to become hyperactive. For this reason, it is always recommended to give Omnacortil Oral Solution in the morning, so there is less impact on sleep.
