Optimox 250mg Injection works by stopping the growth of bacteria, which helps to resolve the underlying infection and improve your symptoms. It is given as a drip (intravenous infusion) or as an injection directly into a vein or a muscle under the supervision of a healthcare professional. This medicine should be used regularly at evenly spaced intervals as per the schedule prescribed by your doctor.
Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping the medicine too early may lead to the infection returning or worsening. The total duration of treatment and precise dosage will be decided by your doctor, depending on the type of infection that you have and how well you respond to the medication. It is effective in both adults and children.
Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you are allergic to penicillin or any penicillin-type of medicine. Rash, vomiting, allergic reactions, nausea, diarrhea and local pain, swelling or redness at the site of injection may be seen as side effects in some patients. These are temporary and usually resolve quickly. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects persist or if your condition worsens. This medicine is generally regarded as safe to use during pregnancy if used under a doctor’s supervision.
Amoxicillin is in a class of medications called penicillin-like antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.
Amoxicillin is approximately 60% bioavailable. A 250mg dose of oral amoxicillin reaches a Cmax 3.93±1.13mg/L with a Tmax 1.31±0.33h and an AUC of 27.29±4.72mg*h/L. A 875mg dose of oral amoxicillin reaches a Cmax 11.21±3.42mg/L with a Tmax 1.52±0.40h and an AUC of 55.04±12.68mg*h/L.

Consuming alcohol with Optimox 250mg Injection does not cause any harmful side effects.
Optimox 250mg Injection is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
Amoxicillin is used to treat certain infections caused by bacteria, such as pneumonia; bronchitis (infection of the airway tubes leading to the lungs); and infections of the ears, nose, throat, urinary tract, and skin.
Amoxicillin can interact with medications like warfarin, allopurinol, and probenecid. It may also interact with alcohol and some live vaccines. Make sure to provide an updated medication list to your healthcare provider and pharmacist. This will help them check for amoxicillin interactions.
