Ornipidi Infusion helps prevent an infection after surgery. It is also used in the treatment of dental infections, leg ulcers, and pressure sores. This injection is administered under the supervision of a healthcare professional and should not be self-administered. Your symptoms may get better after a short time but you should finish the full course of treatment, even if you feel well. Do not drink any alcohol while taking this medicine and for some days after stopping it. Otherwise, you may get unpleasant side effects like nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain.
The most common side effects of this medicine are sleepiness, tiredness, headache, vomiting, and nausea. These are usually mild but let your doctor know if they bother you or last more than a few days.
Before using this medicine, inform your doctor if you are allergic to any medicine or have any kidney or liver problems or any disease of the nervous system. Your doctor may change the dose or prescribe a different medicine. This medicine should not be taken if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless it is absolutely necessary and prescribed by your doctor.
Ornipidi Infusion is an antibiotic. It kills the bacteria and other microorganisms that cause infections by damaging their DNA.
Mean absorption is 90%. Peak plasma concentrations are reached within three hours. Distribution The mean volume of distribution after i.v. administration is 1 litre per kg. Plasma protein binding of ornidazole is about 13%.

ORNIDAZOLE is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the medicine or to other nitroimidazole derivatives. Ornidazole must be used with caution in patients with diseases of the CNS (e.g., epilepsy or multiple sclerosis) and liver disease.
Ornipidi Infusion may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Ornipidi Infusion.

ORNIDAZOLE is used to treat people who have certain types of vaginal, urinary tract and intestinal infections, or some specific infections that are in the body. These infections may be caused by anaerobic bacteria (bacteria that do not use oxygen) or amoeba (single celled parasites).
Drug-Drug Interactions: ORNIDAZOLE may interact with blood thinner (warfarin), muscle relaxant (vecuronium bromide)

If you miss a dose of Ornipidi Infusion, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
