Orpenem ER 300 mg tablet works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis which is essential for bacterial growth. Hence, it helps in killing the bacteria responsible for the infection.
Faropenem is a β-lactam in the penem subclass that is being developed as an oral prodrug, faropenem medoxomil, for the treatment of respiratory tract infections. Faropenem was shown to have in vitro activity against B. anthracis strains that variably express the bla1 β-lactamase (MIC range, ≤0.06 to 1 μg/ml).

FAROPENEM may have interaction with water pills (furosemide), antibiotics (imipenem + cilastatin sodium).
Do not chew, crush or break it. Orpenem 300mg Tablet ER may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Store below 30°C
If you miss a dose of Orpenem 300mg Tablet ER, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
