Paliris 6mg Tablet is an atypical antipsychotic. It works by affecting the levels of chemical messengers (dopamine and serotonin) to improve mood, thoughts and behavior.
Paliperidone, the active, 9-hydroxy metabolite of the atypical atipsychotic, risperidone, exhibits antagonism at both dopamine type 2 and serotonin 2A receptors. Being more hydrophilic than the parent, paliperidone has a different pharmacokinetic profile and is predominantly eliminated unchanged via the renal route.
