Panoz 40 mg Tablet is an anti-ulcer medicine. It is used to treat various stomach and intestinal conditions that may occur due to excess production of acid. These conditions include peptic ulcers (open sores on the walls of the stomach, small intestine, and food pipe), erosive esophagitis (swelling of the food pipe), and gastroesophageal reflux disease (a condition where the stomach acid flows back into the food pipe). Panoz 40 mg Tablet reduces excess acid production in your stomach and relieves the symptoms such as heartburn, inability to swallow food, stomach pain, and vomiting.
Panoz 40 mg Tablet shows side effects like nausea, vomiting, headache, stomach pain, watery stools, and dizziness. These side effects are mild and subside by themselves. Consult your doctor if these side effects worsen or last for a long time.
Panoz 40 mg Tablet should be taken preferably one hour before a meal. The dosage and duration of taking this medication will be decided by your doctor. If you take Panoz 40 mg Tablet for heartburn, it may take 1-2 days to control your symptoms. However, if your condition does not improve in a few days, consult your doctor to know the underlying reason.
Panoz 40 mg Tablet should not be used if you are allergic to it. It is not recommended for use in children below 5 years of age. Inform your doctor if you have liver and bone problems. If you take Panoz 40 mg Tablet for a longer duration, use it with caution as it may decrease the magnesium level in your body and/or increase the risk of bone fracture. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
Panoz 40mg Tablet is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which in turn relieves acid-related indigestion and heartburn.
Pantoprazole is extensively metabolized in the liver through the cytochrome P-450 system, predominantly by CYP2C19 demethylation with subsequent sulfation and has a serum elimination half-life of about 1.1 hours. Pantoprazole does not accumulate, and its pharmacokinetics are not altered by multiple daily dosing.

Pantoprazole is used to treat damage from gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a condition in which backward flow of acid from the stomach causes heartburn and possible injury of the esophagus (the tube between the throat and stomach) in adults and children 5 years of age and older.
Pantoprazole can interact with warfarin, HIV drugs, iron supplements, and more. Many of pantoprazole's interactions are related to its ability to lower acid in your stomach. Several medications need stomach acid to be absorbed. Compared to other PPIs, pantoprazole tends to have fewer interactions.
