Basic Information

Mechanism Of Action

Pantoprazole works by blocking the action of an enzyme called gastric proton pump, responsible for the production of acid. Itopride works by accelerating gastric emptying and improves gastric sensitivity and tension. Together, ITOPRIDE+PANTOPRAZOLE helps in preventing acid reflux, thereby provides relief from acidity.

Pharmacokinets

Pantoprazole is extensively metabolized in the liver through the cytochrome P-450 system, predominantly by CYP2C19 demethylation with subsequent sulfation and has a serum elimination half-life of about 1.1 hours. Pantoprazole does not accumulate, and its pharmacokinetics are not altered by multiple daily dosing.

Pharmacokinetics. After oral administration itopride undergoes rapid and extensive absorption with levels of itopride peaking in the blood plasma after only 35 minutes. Itopride is primarily eliminated via the kidneys having an elimination half-life of approximately 6 hours.
