This is usually a safe medicine, however, it may lead to a decrease in blood pressure. If you experience chest pain, shortness of breath, weakness, nausea, etc., consult the doctor immediately. Mechanism Of Action

Paparin 2 ml Injection increases blood flow to the penis by relaxing the muscles in penile blood vessels. It also affects gastrointestinal (GI), biliary, and ureteral smooth muscles.

Pharmacokinets

The biological half-life of papaverine varies between 1.5 and 2.2 hours, and has a volume of distribution of approximately 15% of the body weight.

Contra Indications

Intravenous injection of papaverine is contraindicated in the presence of complete atrioventricular heart block. When conduction is depressed, the drug may produce transient ectopic rhythms of ventricular origin, either premature beats or paroxysmal tachycardia.

Indications

Papaverine is an alkaloid used to treat many types of smooth muscle spasms such as "vascular spasms" associated with acute myocardial infarction and angina pectoris, as well as "visceral spasms".

Drug-Drug Interactions: PAPAVERINE may have interaction with anti-Parkinson’s (levodopa), smoking cessation agent (nicotine), opioid analgesic (morphine), calcium antagonists, hypotensive agents, and CNS depressants.
