Pif 400mg Tablet should be used in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. It should be taken with food, preferably at a fixed time. Avoid skipping any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose. Simply take the next dose as planned.


You may experience nausea, headache, and dizziness as side effects of this medicine. These are usually temporary and resolve on their own. Pif 400mg Tablet is an antibiotic. It works by stopping the action of a bacterial enzyme called DNA-gyrase. This prevents the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing them.

Pefloxacin is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Its elimination half-life ranges from 6.2 to 12.4 hours.

Drug-Drug Interaction: This PEFLOXACIN may have an interaction with antidiabetic medicines (chlorpropamide, glimepiride, glipizide, glyburide, metformin, tolazamide, and tolbutamide), blood thinners (aspirin, warfarin), medicines used in asthma (theophylline).

Drug-Food Interactions: Avoid dairy products such as milk and yoghurt while taking PEFLOXACIN as they might decrease the effectiveness of PEFLOXACIN.

Drug-Disease Interactions: PEFLOXACIN may have interactions with tendonitis (inflammation in tendons), diabetes, kidney, liver, and heart problems.
