This medicine may affect your alertness, so it is recommended that you avoid driving vehicles or operating machines if you are using Pregular 5 mg Tablet.


Pregular 5 mg Tablet can be taken with or without food. It is recommended that you take it at the same time every day. Your doctor will decide the dosage of this medicine based on your condition. Do not stop using this medicine without consulting your doctor.


Pregular 5 mg Tablet may not be suitable for all people. It is not recommended if you have heart problems, kidney problems, seizures and breathing disorders. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy. It is safe and designed to be used during pregnancy but it should not be used after delivery. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine while breastfeeding.

Pregular 5 mg Tablet helps in maintaining a healthy pregnancy by facilitating the attachment of the embryo within the womb and improving the flow of blood to the placenta. It also causes relaxation of the uterus muscles which helps prevent premature labour

Pharmacokinetics. Following oral administration, peak levels of allylestrenol occur after 2 to 4 hours.

Contra Indications

Contraindicated in people with history of blood clot events, undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, incomplete abortion, cancer, stroke, severe liver impairment, pregnancy and hypersensitivity.

Indications

Allylestrenol is used to prevent premature labor and Recurrent miscarriage. Allylestrenol is a progestin (female hormone). It helps in maintaining pregnancy by promoting the attachment of the embryo to lining of the womb and improving blood flow to the placenta.

Interactions

Carbamazepine, Griseofulvin, Phenobarbital.

Intake of Phenytoin and Rifampicin decrease the blood level of allylestrenol. Thereby, it can reduce the adequate capability of this medicine.

Ketoconazole increases the effectivity of allylestrenol.

Take the missed dose of Pregular 5 mg Tablet as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.

Pregular 5 mg Tablet is used in the prevention pre-term labour, a condition where the body gets ready to give birth much earlier than the expected due date.

Miscarriage

Pregular 5 mg Tablet is used to prevent miscarriage which is the spontaneous loss of the foetus and termination of the pregnancy within the first 20 weeks.

Habitual abortion

Pregular 5 mg Tablet is used to prevent habitual abortion, a condition with three or more consecutive pregnancy losses or miscarriages occur.

Intrauterine growth retardation

Pregular 5 mg Tablet is used to treat intrauterine growth retardation, a condition where the developing baby or foetus is not growing at the normal expected rate.

Failure of nidation

Pregular 5 mg Tablet is used to treat the 'failure of nidation', a condition where the embryo fails to implant in the uterus.
