Premagan 10mg Tablet used in the treatment of nausea and vomiting related to certain conditions like before/after surgery or motion sickness. It may also be used to treat allergic conditions such as rash, itching, and runny nose.
Premagan 10mg Tablet should be taken with or without food, but take it at the same time every day to get the most benefit. The dose and how often you take it depend on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember it. However, you should never take a double dose. Inform your doctor if your symptoms do not improve within 7 days of treatment.
The most common side effects of this medicine include dry mouth, blur vision, headache, and feeling dizzy. If these bother you or appear serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them. It makes skin more sensitive to sunlight. Use a sunscreen or wear protective clothing before going out.
Before taking this medicine, let your doctor know if you have glaucoma or have asthma issues, or have high blood pressure. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, or breastfeeding. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. Generally, it is advised to avoid alcohol while on treatment.
Promethazine is a an antagonist of histamine H1, post-synaptic mesolimbic dopamine, alpha adrenergic, muscarinic, and NMDA receptors. The antihistamine action is used to treat allergic reactions. Antagonism of muscarinic and NMDA receptors contribute to its use as a sleep aid, as well as for anxiety and tension.
Promethazine hydrochloride is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, although a significant portion of a dose is subject to first-pass metabolism. Clinical effects are apparent within 20 minutes after oral, rectal, or intramuscular administration, and the effects last four to six hours.

If you miss a dose of Premagan 10mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Use caution while driving or doing anything that requires concentration as Premagan 10mg Tablet can cause dizziness and sleepiness.
Do not drink alcohol while taking this medication as it may cause increased sleepiness.
It may make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Avoid exposing your skin to strong sunlight, use a sunscreen lotion or make sure your skin is protected with clothing.
Do not take it for longer than 7 days. If your symptoms worsen or do not improve after 7 days, talk to your doctor.
Stop taking it at least three days before taking an allergy test as it can affect the test results.
