Inform you doctor if you are taking any particular medication to treat Parkinson’s disease, other mental health issues, malaria etc. as they may interfere with the effect of Psytas Tablet.


The drug is not meant for consumption by pregnant women and nursing mothers as it may harm the child. The babies of pregnant women who have taken Psytas Tablet during their last trimester may suffer from side effects like stiffness in the muscles and drowsiness. In case your child does show any of the above-mentioned symptoms get in touch with your doctor immediately.


Meant for oral consumption, Psytas Tablet should be taken before food. Patients on this drug are told to avoid alcohol consumption as it may affect the action of Psytas Tablet. It is also advised that driving or used of machines should be avoided as Psytas Tablet can cause drowsiness and change in vision.


When it comes to dosage, your doctor may prescribe you a dose ranging from 50 mg to 800 mg daily. In some cases a daily dose of 1200 mg may also be prescribed. The doctor may initially start you off with a low dosage and increase it depending on your body’s reaction to Psytas Tablet.

Mechanism Of Action

This medication works by binding selectively to D2 and D3 subtype of dopaminergic receptors and blocking the effect of this neurotransmitter in the brain.


Pharmacokinets

Amisulpride binds selectively to dopamine D(2) and D(3) receptors in the limbic system. Low doses of amisulpride preferentially block presynaptic D(2)/D(3)-dopamine autoreceptors, thereby enhancing dopaminergic transmission, whereas higher doses block postsynaptic receptors, thus inhibiting dopaminergic hyperactivity.

Pheochromocytoma.

Use of this medicine during pregnancy is not recommended unless absolutely necessary. It is advised to use this medicine only when the benefits outweigh the risks involved.


Product And Alcohol Interaction

Consumption of alcohol is found to be unsafe with this medicine.


Breast Feeding Related Information

Use of this medicine by breastfeeding women is not recommended. However, if it is absolutely necessary to use this medicine, then breastfeeding should be discontinued. Consult your doctor before using this medicine.


Indications

Amisulpride is indicated for the treatment of acute and chronic schizophrenic disorders, in which positive symptoms (such as delusions, hallucinations, thought disorders) and/or negative symptoms (such as blunted affect, emotional and social withdrawal) are prominent, including patients characterised by predominant .

Interactions

The risk or severity of QTc prolongation can be increased when Amisulpride is combined with Citalopram. The risk or severity of QTc prolongation can be increased when Clarithromycin is combined with Amisulpride. The risk or severity of QTc prolongation can be increased when Amisulpride is combined with Clemastine.

Effects Of Missed Dosage

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next scheduled dose, then the missed dose should be skipped.


Effects Of Overdose

Contact a doctor if an overdose with Psytas Tablet is suspected. Symptoms of an overdose may include excessive drowsiness, fall in blood pressure, agitation, coma etc.
