Pyralfin 25 mg/500 mg Tablet is a prescription medicine. It is to be taken with food and take it at a fixed time regularly. Take the medicine in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Do not consume more than the recommended dose, as this may have harmful effects on your body. A missed dose should be taken as soon as you remember. The course of the treatment should be completed for better efficacy.
Some common side effects of this medicine are headaches, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, weakness, indigestion, etc. You may also feel dizzy, thus it is advised not to drive or operate machinery. To overcome dizziness you should drink plenty of fluid. If any of the side effects get aggravated, contact your doctor immediately.

Pyralfin 25 mg/500 mg Tablet is an antimalarial medicine and is used to treat malaria. It kills the infection-causing parasite and stops the further spread of the infection in the body. Do not use this medicine for treating any other condition without consulting your doctor.
The pharmacokinetics of pyrimethamine have been studied in infants and adults. Pyrimethamine is metabolized in the liver. Its pharmacokinetics are not altered by renal insufficiency, but are affected by concomitantly administered drugs (e.g., phenobarbital).Sulfadoxine is available (combined with pyrimethamine) in both oral and intramuscular forms. It is rapidly and extensively absorbed from the gut. Sulfadoxine is about 94% bound to plasma proteins.

Pyrimethamine+Sulphadoxine is used in the treatment of malaria.Pyrimethamine is an antiparasitic medicine which works by increasing the levels of haeme in the blood, a substance toxic to the malarial parasite. This kills the parasite and stops the infection from spreading. Sulphadoxine is an antibiotic which stops the bacteria from producing folic acid, a nutrient required for bacterial multiplication.
If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Pyralfin Tablet may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Pyralfin Tablet may interact with the following drugs and products:
Leucovorin
Sulfonamides
Trimethoprim

If you miss a dose of Pyralfin 25 mg/500 mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

No, do not stop taking Pyralfin 25 mg/500 mg Tablet and complete the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cured.
Q. What if I miss my dose?
Take Pyralfin 25 mg/500 mg Tablet as soon as you remember it. However, do not take it if it's almost time for your next dose. Also, do not take an extra dose to make up for your missed dose.
