Ramistar-H 10 Tablet is a medicine used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). It is a combination of two medicines that helps to control blood pressure when a single medication is not effective. It helps to reduce the chances of any future heart attack and stroke. Nausea, indigestion, taste change, and diarrhea are some common side effects of this medicine. Consult your doctor If any of these bother you, or get worse, or do not go away. Let your doctor know about cough or throat irritation that does not go away. Drink plenty of fluids while taking medicine to overcome muscle weakness, dry mouth, and extreme thirst. Dizziness may occur due to low blood pressure but this gets better with time. Before taking it, let your doctor know if you have any liver or kidney problems. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor for advice before taking this medicine. You also need to tell your doctor what other medicines you are taking especially those used to treat high blood pressure or heart conditions. You should have your blood pressure, kidney function and the levels of salts such as potassium checked regularly to make sure that this medicine is working properly.
Ramistar-H 10 Tablet relaxes the blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily around your body. It also eliminates excess water from the body and increases urine output. This lowers your blood pressure and reduces your risk of having a stroke, a heart attack, or kidney problems in the future.
Ramipril is a prodrug that undergoes de-esterification in the liver to form ramiprilat, its active metabolite. Ramipril rapidly distributes to all tissues, with the liver, kidneys and lungs showing markedly higher concentrations of the drug than the blood. Absorption of hydrochlorothiazide is reduced in patients with congestive heart failure. Peak plasma concentrations are observed within 1 to 5 hours of dosing, and range from 70 to 490 ng/mL following oral doses of 12.5 to 100 mg.

Ramistar-H 10 Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.
Ramistar-H 10 Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.
Ramistar-H 10 Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Ramipril+Hydrochlorothiazide is used in the treatment of Hypertension (high blood pressure). Ramipril + Hydrochlorothiazide is a combination of two medicines: Ramipril and hydrochlorothiazide which lower blood pressure effectively. Ramipril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor.
Although hydroCHLOROthiazide and ramipril are frequently combined together, their effects may be additive on lowering your blood pressure. You may need a dose adjustment or special tests to safely take both medications. Contact your doctor if you have a reduced heart rate, dizziness, fainting, or headaches.

If you miss a dose of Ramistar-H 10 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

You have been prescribed Ramistar-H 10 Tablet for the treatment of high blood pressure.
It also lowers your risk of stroke and heart attack.
Take it in the morning with breakfast, to avoid getting up at night to urinate.
Ramistar-H 10 Tablet may cause dizziness or sleepiness. Don't drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you.
To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down.
Inform you doctor about any cough, or throat irritation that doesn't go away.
Ramistar-H 10 Tablet may cause dehydration. Drink plenty of fluids and Inform your doctor if you develop extreme thirst, muscle weakness or very dry mouth.
Your doctor may regularly monitor your blood pressure, kidney function and the levels of salts such as potassium in your blood while you are taking this medicine.
Do not take Ramistar-H 10 Tablet if you’re pregnant or planning pregnancy. It can cause birth defects or be fatal to your unborn baby.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Ramistar-H 10 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
