Rapacan 2mg Capsule must be taken in a dose and duration as per the prescription. It can be taken with or without food but make sure to take it at about the same time every day. An overdose of this medicine may have serious side effects on the body.
Common side effects of this medicine include edema, increased blood lipid level, high blood pressure, increased level of creatinine, abdominal pain, diarrhea, headache, fever, urinary tract infection, anemia, nausea, joint pain, and thrombocytopenia. If any of the side effects persist or bother you, consult the doctor immediately. Inform the doctor immediately if you experience any allergic reactions such as rash, shortness of breath, coughing, swelling, etc.
Before taking this medicine, it is important to consult your doctor if you have any ongoing medication for any underlying disease. Pregnant and breastfeeding women must inform the doctor prior to the initiation of this treatment. During the treatment, your doctor may advise you for some laboratory tests to know the effects of the medicine in the body. If you notice signs of infection, any changes in the appearance or size of a mole, unusual growths or lumps, or unusual tiredness or weakness during the treatment, you must consult the doctor immediately.
Rapacan 2mg Capsule is an immunosuppressant. It works by suppressing your body’s immune response following transplant of an organ (eg. liver, kidney, heart). This helps your body to accept the new organ as if it were your own.
Sirolimus inhibits the activated mTOR pathway and proliferation of alveolar smooth muscle cell proliferation. In adult renal transplant patients with low- to moderate-immunologic risk, oral administration of 2 mg sirolimus led to a Cmax of 14.4 ± 5.3 ng/mL for oral solution and 15.0 ± 4.9 ng/mL for oral tablets.

Rapacan 2mg Capsule may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Rapacan 2mg Capsule. Please consult your doctor.
Rapacan 2mg Capsule is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Rapamune (sirolimus) is indicated for the prophylaxis of organ rejection in patients aged 13 years or older receiving renal transplants.
Drug-Drug Interactions: SIROLIMUS may interact with other immunosuppressive agents (e.g. mycophenolate mofetil, mycophenolic acid), antihistamines (e.g. loratadine), anti-hypertensive medicines (e.g. losartan), and diabetic medicines (e.g. insulin glargine, insulin aspart). The relevance of a particular drug interaction varies from person to person. Always consult your healthcare provider before starting or stopping any medication, and also inform your doctor of all your medical conditions and ongoing therapies before prescribing this medication. Considering these, your doctor may check the drug interactions before prescribing this medication.
Drug-Food Interactions: Avoid consumption of alcohol, eating grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice while you are taking SIROLIMUS.
Drug-Disease Interactions: Brief your doctor if you have a medical history of allergic reactions to medicines, Infections, PML (progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy), angioedema, hyperlipidemia, liver disease, liver transplantation, lung dysfunction, lung transplant, renal dysfunction before taking SIROLIMUS.

Rapacan 2mg Capsule is used to prevent organ rejection following a kidney transplant operation.
Avoid grapefruit juice while you are on treatment with this medicine. This is because a chemical in grapefruit juice increases the amount of Rapacan 2mg Capsule in your bloodstream. This makes side-effects more likely.
There is a possibility of a slight increase in the risk of skin cancer with Rapacan 2mg Capsule. Do not use sunbeds, and avoid strong sunlight or use a sun cream with a high sun protection factor (SPF of at least 15).
If you have diabetes mellitus, this medicine may affect your blood sugar levels. Monitor your sugar level regularly and report any extreme changes to your doctor.
