R-Cinex 100mg/50mg Tablet is a combination of two antibiotics: Rifampicin and Isoniazid, which treats tuberculosis (TB). Rifampicin works by inactivating a bacterial enzyme (RNA-polymerase) which is required by TB bacteria to make essential proteins and to reproduce.
Approximately 80% of rifampicin is transported in blood bound to plasma proteins, mainly albumin. Rifampicin is well distributed, although to a different degree, in the various tissues of the human body. Probably in the hepatocyte, rifampicin undergoes a process of desacetylation.The pharmacokinetics of isoniazid in man are described. Pronounced interindividual variation in circulating isoniazid concentration and clearance which occur after dosing with the drug are associated with hereditary differences in the acetylalor status.

If you miss a dose of R-Cinex 100mg/50mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Take it on an empty stomach, preferably at the same time everyday.
It may discolour your urine, sweat, saliva and tears a reddish-orange colour. This is normal and not harmful.
Your doctor may check your liver function before starting treatment and regularly thereafter. Inform your doctor if you notice yellowing of eyes or skin, dark urine, or stomach pain.
Avoid drinking alcohol while taking R-Cinex 100mg/50mg Tablet as this may increase the risk of side effects on the liver.
Use an alternative or additional contraceptive method (such as condoms or a diaphragm) to prevent pregnancy while you are taking R-Cinex 100mg/50mg Tablet as it may make hormonal contraceptives such as the pill less effective.
Do not take indigestion remedies (antacids) within at least two hours of taking R-Cinex 100mg/50mg Tablet.
