Resihance 40Mg Tablet is a drug targeted basically on cancerous diseases. The main method of its function is blocking cancer cells proteins which encourages growth of such cells, hence its also known as cancer growth blocker. FDA in 2017 has expanded the indications of Resihance 40Mg Tablet to include hepatocellular carcinoma. It has been also included as a potential cure agent for multiple types of tumor. It is administered to treat and delay tumor growth in patients with gastrointestinal stromal tumors. It is indicated for treating colorectal cancer as well.


Resihance 40Mg Tablet comes usually in tablet format which is taken once a day according to the doctor’s advice. It is ideally taken in the same time every day. It has been seen that it is usually prescribed to be taken every day for 3 weeks then 1 week gap is given before restarting the dosage.


Side effects are very alarming in some cases when taken without professional guidance. Severe liver toxicity, bleeding, skin-peeling, blood pressure are some of the serious effects. Weakness, fatigue, loss of appetite, diarrhea, weight loss, infections etc are some common side effects which accompany the drug. Hence it must be taken only under Doctor’s advice.

Pharmacokinets

Regorafenib undergoes enterohepatic circulation with multiple plasma concentration peaks observed across the 24-hour dosing interval. Regorafenib is highly bound (99.5%) to human plasma proteins. Regorafenib is metabolized by CYP3A4 and UGT1A9.

Contra Indications

This medicine may cause serious skin problems, including hand-foot skin reaction or a severe rash. Call your doctor right away if you have skin redness, pain, blisters, bleeding, or swelling of the palms of your hands and soles of your feet. This medicine may cause serious heart problems.

Indications

indicated for the treatment of patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC) who have been previously treated with fluoropyrimidine-, oxaliplatin- and irinotecan-based chemotherapy, an anti-VEGF therapy, and, if RAS wild- type, an anti-EGFR therapy.

Interactions

Drug-Drug Interactions: REGORAFENIB may have interaction with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (clarithromycin, diltiazem, erythromycin, itraconazole, ketoconazole, ritonavir), strong CYP3A4 inducers (carbamazepine, rifampicin, phenytoin, phenobarbitone).

Drug-Food Interactions: Avoid alcohol consumption and smoking.

Dug-Disease Interactions: Tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease, heart problems, GI perforation, or lung toxicity before starting the treatment.
