Rifacept 600 mg Capsule might cause some side effects like nausea, vomiting, headache, heartburn, etc., that subside with time. Avoid consuming alcohol while you are on treatment with this medicine because it may cause excessive drowsiness. Inform your doctor if any of the side effects become severe or persist for a long time.
Rifacept 600 mg Capsule may cause discolouration (yellow, orange, red, brown) of your teeth, urine, sweat, sputum, and tears. Soft contact lenses may be permanently stained. This is normal and not harmful.
Rifacept 600 mg Capsule should be taken on an empty stomach or 2 hours after the meal as the food decreases its absorption. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of this medicine based on the severity and location of the infection. Ensure to complete the entire course and do not stop taking it on your own. Stopping it early may make the infection reoccur and be difficult to treat.
Rifacept 600 mg Capsule should be used with caution if you have liver and stomach/intestinal disease. Inform your doctor about any other medications you are taking since a few may interact with or be impacted by this medication. If you are pregnant or are breastfeeding, consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
Rifacept 600 mg Capsule acts by blocking the action of bacterial components, which is necessary for tuberculosis bacteria to produce vital proteins and multiply.
Rifampin is well absorbed when taken orally and is distributed widely in body tissues and fluids, including the CSF. It is metabolized in the liver and eliminated in bile and, to a much lesser extent, in urine, but dose adjustments are unnecessary with renal insufficiency.

Hypersensitivity to rifamycins.
Concomitant administration of live bacterial vaccines.
Contraindicated in patients receiving ritonavir-boosted saquinavir, because of increased risk of severe hepatocellular toxicity.
Rifacept 600 mg Capsule is not recommended for use if you are pregnant. It may cause affect your foetus; hence, consult your doctor before using it.
Avoid drinking alcohol while on treatment with Rifacept 600 mg Capsule as it may increase the risk of side effects such as dizziness, flushing, increased heartbeat, nausea, thirst, etc.
Rifacept 600 mg Capsule passes into breastmilk. Thus, it is not recommended for use if you are breastfeeding.
Rifampin is indicated for the treatment of tuberculosis and tuberculosis-related mycobacterial infections. In combination with pyrazinamide and isoniazid, it is used in the initial phase of the short-course treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis.
RIFAMPICIN may have interaction with pain killers (acetaminophen, hydrocodone), anti-TB (ethambutol, pyrazinamide) and vitamins (ergocalciferol, cholecalciferol, ascorbic acid), blood thinners (warfarin), Antacids (Pantoprazole, omeprazole), Antibiotics (doxycycline, ciprofloxacin, amoxicillin),

If you have missed Rifacept 600 mg Capsule dose, make sure that you remember to take the next dose on time. Do not take two doses together to make up for a forgotten dose.
Never take Rifacept 600 mg Capsule more than the prescribed dose. If you suspect that you have taken an overdose of this medicine, go to the emergency department of your local hospital.
Take Rifacept 600 mg Capsule on an empty stomach, either 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal. The absorption of this medicine may be reduced if it is taken along with food.
Consult the doctor if you experience any undesirable effects. Ensure that the treatment course is completed.
Do not stop the use of this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Meningococcal meningitis is an infection that affects your brain and spinal cord. Rifacept 600 mg Capsule prevents the growth of bacteria and helps in the treatment of meningococcal meningitis.
Leprosy
Leprosy is a skin disease that changes colour and causes lumps on the skin. Rifacept 600 mg Capsule is used alone or in combination with other medicines in the treatment of leprosy.
