Risnia Plus tablet is primarily used to treat psychotic disorders like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Managing irritability in autistic children, manic episodes, etc., are other uses of Risnia Plus tablets. These psychiatric conditions affect a person's ability to think, feel and behave appropriately. This medicine may be prescribed alone or with Lithium or Valproate to treat bipolar disorder in adults. But it is prescribed on its own in children and adolescents. Risnia Plus tablet has risperidone and trihexyphenidyl as its active ingredients. It belongs to a class of atypical antipsychotic medicines. The mode of action of Risnia Plus tablets is by stabilising levels of certain chemical messengers that help manage the mood and lower overactivity in the brain. Trihexyphenidyl is added to lower the side effects of Risnia Plus tablets, such as sudden movements. This medicine can cause death in older adults with memory loss associated with psychotic disorders. It can also cause suicidal thoughts in young adults. It is important to follow the doctor's direction for use of Risnia Plus tablets. Sudden stoppage of Risnia Plus tablets can cause withdrawal symptoms like irritation, vomiting, sweating, etc. However, it is not a habit-forming medicine and does not cause dependency.
