Roclav BD 1000mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Amoxycillin and Clavulanic Acid. Amoxycillin is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria. Clavulanic Acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Amoxycillin against bacteria.
The half-life of amoxicillin is 61.3 minutes. Approximately 60% of an orally administered dose of amoxicillin is excreted in the urine within 6 to 8 hours. Detectable serum levels are observed up to 8 hours after an orally administered dose of amoxicillin. Clavulanic acid is well absorbed after oral ingestion in adult men, with a mean bioavailability of 60%. Peak concentrations are reached on average 0.7–2.0 h after ingestion. Its metabolism is partly hepatic with plasma protein binding up to 30% and it is cleared through both renal and non-renal pathways [13, 14].
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them
