Salbair Resp 5mg Solution is a bronchodilator. It works by relaxing the muscles in the airways and widens airways. This makes breathing easier.
The pharmacokinetics of salbutamol in dogs and cats have not been studied. In humans, when administered by inhalation, salbutamol produces significant bronchodilation within 15 min that lasts for 3–4 h. It is also generally well absorbed orally and may have broncho- dilatory effects for up to 8 h.Ipratropium is metabolized in the gastrointestinal tract by the activity of the cytochrome P-450 isoenzymes. From the orally administered dose, about 90% of the dose is excreted unchanged. The absorbed portion is partially metabolized by ester hydrolysis to inactive metabolites, tropic acid and tropane.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them
