Seizgard 200mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time, each day. If you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember as it can be life-threatening in some cases, so it is better to keep an extra stock always to avoid a missed dose. You should finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better and always consult your doctor before stopping this medicine as it may increase seizure frequency. Inform your doctor if you have any heart-related problems, before starting your treatment with this medicine.
The use of this medicine may cause some side effects such as headaches, dizziness, blurred vision, nausea, and diplopia (double vision). Most of these side effects are self-limiting and they usually improve with time. Keep a watch on your weight, as using this medicine can cause weight gain. Eat healthily and exercise regularly to manage it.
Seizgard 200mg Tablet is an antiepileptic medication. It slowly inactivates the sodium gated channels, which decreases the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain. Thereby, it controls seizures or fits.
Lacosamide is rapidly absorbed, with maximum plasma concentrations reached 0.5-4 h after intake. Oral bioavailability is high (100 %) for a dose up to 800 mg. Bioavailability is irrespective of food intake.

Lacosamide is used to control partial onset seizures (seizures that involve only one part of the brain) in adults and children 1 month of age and older.
LACOSAMIDE may interact with HIV medications (e.g. atazanavir, saquinavir), opioid medications (e.g. buprenorphine), anticancer medications (e.g. ceritinib), medicines used to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by cancer chemotherapy (e.g. dolasetron), anaesthetic medications (e.g. ketamine), used to treat multiple sclerosis (e.g. ponesimod, siponimod), medicines used to treat episodes of muscle weakness (e.g. sodium oxybate).
Do not chew, crush or break it. Seizgard 200mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

If you miss a dose of Seizgard 200mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you miss a dose of Seizgard 200mg Tablet within 6 hours of the scheduled time, take it as soon as you remember. However, if you have forgotten to take the dose for more than 6 hours of the scheduled time then skip the dose and take the next one as scheduled. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed dose.

No, Seizgard 200mg Tablet is not habit forming. There are no reports which suggest occurrence of withdrawal symptoms following its discontinuation. Seizgard 200mg Tablet may cause euphoria (patients may feel extremely happy and overwhelmed) in some individuals who may then take it merely for fun (drug abuse). It is possible that such individuals may become psychologically dependent on this medicine.
