The medicine is well tolerated and does not usually have any common side effects. However, consult your doctor if you experience any symptoms which you think are caused by the medicine. Avoid direct contact of the medicine with your eyes. In case of accidental contact, wash your eyes with plenty of water and seek immediate medical attention. Silverstream Liquid is an antiseptic. It works by releasing silver ions into the skin which kills or prevents the growth of infectious microorganisms.
Silver nitrate is effective against most strains of Staphylococcus and Pseudomonas, and also has activity against many of the Gram-negative aerobes that commonly colonize burn wounds. Concentrations much above 5% are histotoxic.

Do not use more than what is recommended to relieve your symptoms faster. Using more than what is advised will only increase the side effects. Let your doctor know if you are planning to conceive. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should use Silverstream Liquid only if prescribed by the doctor.
