It has both bacteriostatic (inhibits bacterial growth) and bactericidal (kills bacteria) mechanisms of action, depending on its concentration. Chlorhexidine kills by disrupting the cell membrane. Upon application in vitro, chlorhexidine can kill nearly 100% of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria within 30 seconds

Pharmacokinetic studies with Chlorhexidine gluconate oral rinse indicate approximately 30% of the active ingredient, Chlorhexidine gluconate, is retained in the oral cavity following rinsing. This retained drug is slowly released in the oral fluids

Use Skeen Soap after meals, it may affect the taste of foods and beverages.

For maximum effectiveness avoid rinsing mouth (with water or any other mouthwash), brushing teeth, eating or drinking for 30 minutes after using the Skeen Soap.

Skeen Soap may cause permanent discolouration of some tooth fillings. To minimize discolouration, brush and floss daily, focussing on the areas which begin to discolour.

Do not mix/dilute Skeen Soap with any other product.

Avoid contact with eyes and ears. If the solution comes in contact with your eyes, rinse well with water.

It should be used as required. It is generally used twice daily. Rinse the mouth thoroughly for about 1 minute with 10 ml of Skeen Soap mouthwash. After rinsing, expel it from your mouth.
