Smuth Capsule is taken in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.
The most common side effects are nausea, diarrhea, stomach cramp, skin rash, fever, and headache. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any side effects. Lifestyle modifications like having a fiber-rich diet, increase fluid intake and regular exercise can help you to get better results.
Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding. You should also tell your doctor if you have any liver diseases so that your doctor can prescribe a suitable dose for you.
Smuth Capsule is a combination medicine used in the treatment of constipation. This medicine absorbs water, hence makes the stool soft and easier to pass. It also helps in easy passage of gas.
Docusate is an anionic surfactant (i.e., a surface-active agent). It lowers the surface tension at the oil-water interface of the feces, allowing water and lipids to penetrate the stool. This helps to hydrate and soften the fecal material, facilitating natural defecation.The main action of the drug is related to a reduction of microvascular permeability as measured by different parameters and methods (vitreous fluorophotometry, retinal haemorrhages, skin capillary resistance, blood albumin leakage, blood viscosity) leading to improved visual acuity.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Docusate+Calcium Dobesilate is used in the treatment of constipation.Docusate is a lubricant laxative which helps retain water and fat in the stools, making them soft, slippery and easier to pass. Calcium Dobesilate is a vasoprotective medicine which works on the walls of the small blood vessels and reduces their leakage and fragility. It also improves blood flow by decreasing viscosity/thickness of blood, thereby relieving inflammation (redness and swelling) in piles/ hemorrhoids and promoting healing.
The effects of Smuth Capsule may change if you are taking it with other medicines and other anti-inflammatory products . This may increase your risk of side-effects or prevent your medicine from working. Tell your doctor about all the medications, vitamins, and Ayurvedic supplements you use, so your doctor can help manage or reduce the effects of the medication. Smuth Capsule may interact with the following drugs or products.
Advair diskus
Aspirin
Duloxetine
Furosemide
Insulin glargine
Milk of magnesia

Smuth Capsule may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Store below 30°C
If you miss a dose of Smuth Capsule, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Smuth Capsule is prescribed for short-term relief from constipation.
A fiber-rich diet (wholegrain bread and cereals, fruit and green leafy vegetables) with six to eight full glasses of water each day and daily exercise are important in maintaining healthy bowel function.
Do not take any other laxative along with Smuth Capsule without consulting your doctor.
Sometimes certain medicines like iron tablets, antibiotics might cause constipation. Inform your doctor if you are taking any of them.
