Sofokem Tablet should be taken in the prescribed dose and duration. It can be taken with or without food, but take it at the same time daily. Mechanism Of Action

Sofokem Tablet is a combination of two antiviral medicines: Ledipasvir and Sofosbuvir. They work by lowering the amount of hepatitis C virus in the body and removing the virus from the blood over a period of time.

Pharmacokinets

Pharmacokinetics. Sofosbuvir is only administered orally. The peak concentration after oral administration is 0.5–2 hours post-dose, regardless of initial dose. Peak plasma concentration of the main circulating metabolite GS-331077 occurs 2–4 hours post-dose.

Indications

Sofosbuvir is indicated for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C infection as a component of a combination antiviral treatment regimen.

Interactions

Drug-Drug Interaction: SOFOSBUVIR may interact with anticonvulsants (oxcarbazepine, carbamazepine, phenytoin, phenobarbital), wakefulness-promoting agents (modafinil), antibiotics (rifapentine, rifabutin, rifampin), anti-HIV drug (tipranavir) and medicine used to treat irregular heartbeats (amiodarone).

Drug-Food Interaction: Avoid taking SOFOSBUVIR with St. John’s wort (Hypericum perforatum) or a product containing St. John’s wort (herbal medicine used to treat depression).

Drug-Disease Interaction: If you have diabetes or liver problems other than hepatitis C (if you are awaiting liver transplantation), inform your doctor before taking SOFOSBUVIR.

Effects Of Missed Dosage

If you miss a dose of Sofokem Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Sofokem  Tablet is used for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection.

Take it with food, preferably at the same time everyday.

You will usually need to take this medicine every day for either 12 or 24 weeks.

Skipping doses increases the risk of treatment failure. Make sure that you take all your doses at the correct time.

It may cause fatigue, dizziness, and blurred vision. Don't drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you.

Sofokem  Tablet may cause headaches. Drink plenty of water and take a suitable painkiller. Inform your doctor if it does not go away.

Your doctor may monitor your liver function and the amount of hepatitis C virus in your body regularly.

Do not stop taking this medicine without your doctor’s advice.
