The course of the treatment must be completed even if you feel better. Sudden discontinuation of the treatment may affect the potency of the medicine.
Some common side effects of this medicine are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, indigestion, etc. If any of the side effects get aggravated, you must consult your doctor immediately. If you experience any allergic reaction (rashes, itching, swelling, shortness of breath, etc.), you must seek immediate medical help.
Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are taking any medicines for any health condition. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult with their doctor before taking it. Avoid drinking alcohol as it can cause excessive drowsiness with this medicine. It usually does not impair your ability to drive, but you should not drive if it makes you feel sleepy or dizzy. You must take adequate rest for a faster recovery, also take a healthy diet and drink plenty of water. Your doctor may ask for a few laboratory and diagnostic tests to know the effects of the medicine on your body.
Ceftriaxone acts by killing the bacteria responsible for infections. However, bacteria make an enzyme (beta-lactamases) that can destroy ceftriaxone. Sulbactam inactivates this enzyme and hence helps ceftriaxone to function optimally.
Thirty-three to 67 percent of a dose is excreted in the urine as unchanged drug, and the remainder is secreted in the bile and ultimately is found in the feces as microbiologically inactive compounds. Ceftriaxone is rapidly and completely absorbed following intramuscular administration.Sulbactam, a new beta-lactamase inhibitor, has pharmacokinetic characteristics in humans similar to those of ampicillin and amoxicillin. Its half-life in humans is approximately 1 h.

Sulbactomax 2000 mg/1000 mg Injection is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Consuming alcohol with Sulbactomax 2000 mg/1000 mg Injection does not cause any harmful side effects.
Sulbactomax 2000 mg/1000 mg Injection should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.
Ceftriaxone & Sulbactam for Injection is indicated in infections caused by Ceftriaxone sodiumsensitive pathogens and may be used in the clinical settings in Sepsis, Meningitis, Abdominal Infections (e.g. Peritonitis, infection of the biliary tract), infections of the Bones, Joints, Soft tissue, Skin and of wounds, Renal and Urinary Tract Infections, Respiratory tract Infections,particularly Pneumonia, and Ear, Nose and Throat Infections, and uncomplicated gonorrhea.Ceftriaxone & Sulbactam for Injection may also be used for Peri-operative Prophylaxis of Infections. A single dose given Preoperatively may reduce chances of Postoperative Infection.
CEFTRIAXONE+SULBACTAM may interact with vaccines (cholera vaccine) estrogens (ethinyl estradiol), penicillin antibiotics (mezlocillin and azlocillin), aminoglycoside antibiotics (amikacin, streptomycin, neomycin and gentamicin), immuno-suppressant(cyclosporine) and medicine used to treat gout (probenecid).

Finish the prescribed course, even if you start to feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection come back and harder to treat.
Diarrhea may occur as a side effect. Taking probiotics along with Sulbactomax 2000 mg/1000 mg Injection may help. Talk to your doctor if you notice bloody stools or develop abdominal cramps.
Stop taking Sulbactomax 2000 mg/1000 mg Injection and inform your doctor immediately if you develop an itchy rash, swelling of the face, throat or tongue or breathing difficulties while taking it.

Yes, Sulbactomax 2000 mg/1000 mg Injection can cause an allergic reaction and is considered to be harmful for patients with known allergy to a group of antibiotic called cephalosporins. Seek emergency medical help if you have any sign of an allergic reaction like hives; difficulty in breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Yes, the use of Sulbactomax 2000 mg/1000 mg Injection can cause diarrhea. It is an antibiotic which kills the harmful bacteria. However, it also affects the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine and causes diarrhea. If you are experiencing severe diarrhea, talk to your doctor about it.
