TAMODEX 20MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with a history of blood clots (including family), taking treatment for infertility.
TAMODEX 20MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with a history of hereditary angioedema.
TAMODEX 20MG TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women. Inform your doctor before taking TAMODEX 20MG TABLET if you are breastfeeding.
TAMODEX 20MG TABLET is not recommended for use in children. The most common side effects of taking TAMODEX 20MG TABLET are nausea, fluid retention, skin rash, hot flushes, tiredness and anemia. Consult your doctor if any of the above side effects worsen or persist for a long time.
TAMODEX 20MG TABLET works by binding to estrogen receptors and blocking the effects of estrogen (natural female hormone) in the breast tissue. This slows down the growth and multiplication of breast cancer cells.
Tamoxifen typically has an elimination half-life of 5–7 days. The half-life of endoxifen ranges from 49.0 to 68.1 h for doses ranging from 20 and 160 mg. Tamoxifen has a prolonged Tmax of 4–7 h, and endoxifen has a shorter Tmax of 2–4 h.

Worsening of the symptoms of breast cancer such as an increase in pain and/or an increase in the size of the affected tissue may occur
You should not take tamoxifen if you have a history of blood clots or take blood-thinning medicine. Tamoxifen increases the risk of blood clots. You should not take tamoxifen if you are breastfeeding, pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or if there is any chance that you could be pregnant.
TAMODEX 20MG TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women. Consult your doctor immediately if you think you may have become pregnant after starting the treatment.
Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding before taking TAMODEX 20MG TABLET.
Tamoxifen is indicated to treat estrogen receptor positive metastatic breast cancer in adults, as an adjuvant in the treatment of early stage estrogen receptor positive breast cancer in adults, to reduce the risk of invasive breast cancer after surgery and radiation in adult women with ductal carcinoma in situ.
Before taking TAMODEX 20MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:
Oral contraceptives
Hormone replacement therapy (HRT)
Antidepressants (Ex. paroxetine, fluoxetine)
Bupropion (used as antidepressant or aid smoking cessation)
Quinidine (used to treat cardiac arrhythmia)
Cincalet/cinacalcet (used to treat disorders of the parathyroid gland)
Blood thinning medicines such as warfarin
Rifampicin (used for tuberculosis)
Medicines used to treat breast cancer (Ex. anastrozole, letrozole and exemestane)
Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Store the Tamodex Tablets in a cool and dry place, protected from direct sunlight, moisture and heat. Keep it away from children and pets.
In case you’ve missed taking any dose of the Tamodex Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Avoid taking a double dose to compensate for the missed one.
Seek urgent medical attention in case you have consumed too much of Tamodex Tablet.
You are at risk of developing blood clots.
You are to undergo an operation.
You are pregnant or are breastfeeding.
You are pregnant or are planning a pregnancy.
Before starting the treatment, your doctor may evaluate the risk of you developing breast cancer.
Tamodex Tablet is not recommended for patients below 18 years of age.
