Tapentadol and its metabolites are 99% excreted via the kidneys. The terminal half-life is about four hours after oral administration. The total clearance is 1530 ± 177 mL/min. Intraperitoneal lowest published toxic dose (TDLO) is 10 mg/kg in rats.
