T-Bact 2% Ointment is meant for external use only. It should be applied only to the affected area of the skin as per the dosage and schedule prescribed by your doctor. In order to get the most benefit, apply it regularly and preferably at the same time each day. Do not use larger amounts or apply it more often or for a longer duration than directed. This will only increase the risk of side effects. Do not use it for more than 10 days. Avoid any contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth. Rinse it off with water if you accidentally get the medicine in these areas.
T-Bact 2% Ointment is an antibiotic that works by stopping the growth of infection-causing bacteria on your skin. It prevents the synthesis of essential proteins necessary for the survival of bacteria. It is effective against skin infections such as boils, impetigo, and infected hair follicles.
Mupirocin is administered topically to the skin or the nares. Once in systemic circulation, it is rapidly metabolized to inactive monic acid and is excreted via the kidneys. The elimination half-life is 20—40 minutes for mupirocin and 30—80 minutes for monic acid.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

T-Bact 2% Ointment is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
No interaction found/established
T-Bact 2% Ointment is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Mupirocin cream is indicated for the treatment of secondarily infected traumatic skin lesions (up to 10 cm in length or 100 cm2 in area) due to susceptible isolates of Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) and Streptococcus pyogenes (S. pyogenes).
Use with caution in patients with kidney patient or those on dialysis.
Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and gently massage the ointment.
Store below 25°C
If you miss a dose of T-Bact 2% Ointment, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.

T-Bact 2% Ointment is used to treat bacterial skin infections such as impetigo.
Clean and dry the affected area and apply the medicine at least 3 times a day. A dressing can be applied over the treated area if needed.
Avoid getting it in the eyes, mouth or nose. Rinse with cold water if you accidentally get it in these areas.
It can cause slight irritation at the application site. Let your doctor know if the irritation does not go away.
Do not use for more than 10 days. Throw away any cream that is left over.
If your skin condition does not improve within 3 to 5 days, see your doctor.

Q. Is T-Bact 2% Ointment used for diaper rash?
T-Bact 2% Ointment is an antibacterial medicine and will only help if the diaper rash is due to bacterial infection.
Q. What if I do not get better after using T-Bact 2% Ointment?
Inform your doctor if your symptoms are getting worse while using this medicine. If you do not feel better after finishing the full course of treatment, consult your doctor.
Q. For how long do I need to use T-Bact 2% Ointment?
Use T-Bact 2% Ointment for the duration advised by your doctor. The bacteria are normally cleared from your skin within 10 days of starting the treatment. Do not use it for more than 10 days. If your skin condition does not improve within 3-5 days, see your doctor.
Q. How should I use T-Bact 2% Ointment?
Follow the directions given by your doctor carefully. Wash your hands before applying T-Bact 2% Ointment. Apply the ointment to the infected area of skin 2-3 times daily or as told by your doctor. You can cover the treated area with a dressing or leave it open as per your doctor’s advice.
Q. Can I apply T-Bact 2% Ointment on an open wound?
Consult your doctor before using T-Bact 2% Ointment. Avoid using T-Bact 2% Ointment for large open wounds if you have a kidney problem as this may further damage your kidneys.
Q. After I applied T-Bact 2% Ointment, I felt burning and stinging sensations. Should I stop using it?
Burning sensation is a common side effect of applying T-Bact 2% Ointment. However, stinging is uncommon. It does not last long and will disappear after sometime. Do not stop using T-Bact 2% Ointment because of these mild side effects. If you have any concerns consult your doctor.
Q. In which areas of the skin should I avoid using T-Bact 2% Ointment?
T-Bact 2% Ointment should not be used to treat infections in or near the eyes, nostrils or mouth. If this medicine accidentally enters your eyes, wash the eyes thoroughly with water. In case you have tubes inserted in your body for the delivery of fluids or medicines (cannula), do not use this medicine to treat the skin near that area.
Q. What should prompt me to stop using T-Bact 2% Ointment?
Wash off the ointment immediately if you get raised and itchy rash, cough, shortness of breath, wheezing or difficulty breathing, fainting, and swelling of the face, lips, tongue, throat or other parts of the body. These may be signs of severe allergic reaction. You should immediately stop using T-Bact 2% Ointment and consult your doctor. Though unlikely, but if you get abdominal cramps and diarrhea, you should stop T-Bact 2% Ointment immediately and consult your doctor.
