High blood pressure is a condition where the force of the blood against the artery wall is very high and if it is not treated, can damage blood vessels in several organs. It is important to regularly measure your blood pressure to check whether it is within the normal range. Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor know if you have any kidney or liver problems. Pregnant or breastfeeding mothers should consult their doctor before taking it. The use of TELLY 40MG in children and adolescents upto the age of 18 years is not recommended.
Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking a substance in the body that causes blood vessels to tighten. As a result, telmisartan relaxes the blood vessels. This lowers blood pressure and increases the supply of blood and oxygen to the heart.
The pharmacokinetics of orally administered telmisartan are nonlinear over the dose range 20-160 mg, with greater than proportional increases of plasma concentrations (Cmax and AUC) with increasing doses. Telmisartan shows bi-exponential decay kinetics with a terminal elimination half life of approximately 24 hours.

Telmisartan is used alone or together with other medicines to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). High blood pressure adds to the workload of the heart and arteries. If it continues for a long time, the heart and arteries may not function properly.
Some products that may interact with this drug include: aliskiren, lithium, ramipril, drugs that may increase the level of potassium in the blood (such as ACE inhibitors including benazepril/lisinopril, birth control pills containing drospirenone).

If you miss a dose of Telly 40 Tablet, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.

Take it at the same time every day to help you remember to take it.
It can make you feel dizzy for the first few days. Rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down for a long time.
Your doctor may get regular test done to monitor the level of urea, creatinine, and potassium in your blood.
Avoid taking anti-inflammatory medicines such as ibuprofen, along with Tellz 40 Tablet without consulting your doctor.
It may increase the level of potassium in blood. Avoid taking potassium supplements and potassium-rich foods such as bananas, coconut water and broccoli.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Telly 40 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Q. How long does it take for TELLY 40MG to work?
You may see an improvement within a few days. But the maximum benefit can be seen within 4-8 weeks of starting treatment.

Yes, it can cause hyperkalemia (increased potassium level in blood). A regular monitoring of blood potassium levels may be advised by your doctor while taking this medicine.
Q. How does TELLY 40MG works?
This medicine relaxes the blood vessels by blocking the action of angiotensin II that usually makes your blood vessels narrow. This allows the blood to flow more smoothly to different organs and the heart to pump more efficiently thus lowering the blood pressure.
