Temokem 100mg Injection is given by a nurse or a doctor. You should not self-administer this medicine.  Your doctor will decide what dose is necessary and how often you need to take it. This will depend on the severity of your condition and may change from time to time. It may take several weeks or months for you to see or feel the benefits but do not stop taking it unless your doctor tells you to.

The most common side effects of this medicine include nausea, vomiting, constipation, headache, and fatigue. This medicine may reduce the number of blood cells in your blood thereby, increasing the susceptibility to infections. Regular blood tests are required to check your blood cells along with kidney, liver, and heart function during treatment with this medicine.

Before taking it, tell your doctor if you have bleeding, liver, or kidney problems or are taking any medicines to treat infections. Many other medicines can affect, or be affected by, this medicine so let your doctor know all medications you are using. This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. The use of effective contraception by both males and females during treatment is important to avoid pregnancy.

Mechanism Of Action

Temokem 100mg Injection is an anti-cancer medication. It enters the brain tissues and works by damaging the genetic material (DNA and RNA) of the cancer cells. This stops their growth and multiplication.

Pharmacokinets

Temozolomide is rapidly absorbed after oral administration with almost 100% bioavailability, and its plasma pharmacokinetics is linear and predictable, both in adults and children [7–10]. Temozolomide is a pro-drug for methyl triazene (MITC), which is the final active methylating compound

pneumonia with a fungus called Pneumocystis jirovecii

low levels of a type of white blood cell called neutrophils

a decreased number of lymphocytes in the blood

myelodysplastic syndrome, a bone marrow disorder

abnormal liver function tests

pregnancy

a patient who is producing milk and breastfeeding

Temokem 100mg Injection is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.


Product And Alcohol Interaction

It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Temokem 100mg Injection. Please consult your doctor.


Breast Feeding Related Information

Temokem 100mg Injection is unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Data suggests that the drug may cause toxicity to the baby.

Indications

TEMODAR® (temozolomide) is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with newly diagnosed glioblastoma multiforme concomitantly with radiotherapy and then as maintenance treatment.

Effects Of Missed Dosage

If you miss a dose of Temokem 100mg Injection, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

It increases your risk of bleeding. Be careful while shaving, cutting fingernails or toenails, or using sharp objects.

Your doctor may get regular blood tests done to monitor your blood cell count and liver function.

Inform your doctor if you experience severe skin rash, fever, chills, headache and shortness of breath during the treatment.
