Thalide Capsule is an immunomodulatory medicine. It modulates the immune system. Thalide is used to treat lepra reaction of skin as well as white blood cell cancer. It contains thalidomide as an active ingredient. This medicine acts by inhibiting the release of a certain chemical substance that causes swelling. It also modulates and strengthens the immune system. It kills and inhibits the growth of cancer cells, thereby preventing the spread of cancer. Take Thalide as advised by your doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine on your own. Thalide Capsule should be avoided if you are pregnant or planning pregnancy.
Thalidomide acts by inhibiting the growth and multiplication of cancer cells and stops cancer cells from making their own blood vessels. Thus, kills the cancer cells. It also modulates the immune system of the body.
Due to its low aqueous solubility and thus low dissolution is the gastrointestinal tract, thalidomide's absorption is slow, with a tlag of 20-40 min. Therefore, thalidomide exhibits absorption rate-limited pharmacokinetics or "flip-flop" phenomenon.

Thalide Capsule should not be used during pregnancy as it may cause serious harm to the unborn baby. Inform your doctor if you are planning pregnancy while on this medicine.
No, you should not consume alcohol while on Thalide as it may worsen the side effect. Talk to your doctor if you consume it often.
It is not known if the component of Thalide passes into the breastmilk.

Thalide Capsule is to be taken as advised by the doctor.
Store Thalide Capsule at room temperature in a cool and dry place, away from heat and moisture.
Keep it away from children and pets.
Missing a dose of Thalide Capsule may reduce the effectiveness of the treatment. If you missed any dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dose schedule. Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.
Overdose of Thalide may cause drowsiness, irritability, sickness and headache. If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
