Tiomate Hfa 6mcg/9mcg Inhaler is a combination of two medicines: Formoterol and Tiotropium. Formoterol is a bronchodilator while Tiotropium is an anticholinergic. They work by relaxing the muscles in the airways and widen the airways. Together, they make breathing easier.
Formoterol, a long-acting beta 2-selective adrenoceptor agonist, produces dose-proportional bronchodilation in patients with obstructive airways disease with a reversible component. A significant effect occurs within minutes of inhalation of a therapeutic formoterol dose and persists for approximately 12 hours.Tiotropium is a long-acting, antimuscarinic bronchodilator used in the management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma. Tiotropium acts mainly on M3 muscarinic receptors located in the airways to produce smooth muscle relaxation and bronchodilation.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them
