You should take this medicine regularly while you need it. Try not to miss doses as this will make the medicine less effective.
Some common side effects of this medicine include dry mouth, sleepiness, tiredness, and dizziness. If any of these side effects do not go away or get worse, you should let your doctor know. Your doctor may be able to suggest ways of preventing or reducing the symptoms.

Tizpa 2mg Tablet is a muscle relaxant. It works on the centres in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm without reduction in strength. This improves pain and movement of muscles.
Tizanidine has linear pharmacokinetics over the doses studied in clinical development (1-20 mg). Tizanidine has a half-life of approximately 2.5 hours (CV=33%). Approximately 95% of an administered dose is metabolized. The primary cytochrome P450 isoenzyme involved in tizanidine metabolism is CYP1A2.

Tizanidine is a centrally acting alpha-2 agonist prescribed to manage spasticity caused by multiple sclerosis, stroke, and spinal cord injury. Tizanidine is also used off-label for managing patients suffering from chronic neck and back pain and chronic migraines.
Drug-Drug Interactions: TIZANIDINE may have interaction with antidepressants (escitalopram, duloxetine, sertraline, fluvoxamine), anticonvulsants (pregabalin, topiramate), anti-allergic drugs (diphenhydramine, cetirizine), pain relievers (acetaminophen + hydrocodone), an anti-anxiety drug (alprazolam), sedative-hypnotic drug (zolpidem), bronchodilator (albuterol), antibiotic (ciprofloxacin).
Drug-Food Interactions: TIZANIDINE may interact with caffeine. Therefore, avoid intake of caffeine with TIZANIDINE as it may cause low blood pressure and dizziness. Also, avoid intake of alcohol with TIZANIDINE as it may increase the risk of adverse effects.
Drug-Disease Interactions: If you have low blood pressure, liver or kidney diseases, inform your doctor before taking TIZANIDINE.

If you miss a dose of Tizpa 2mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
