It may take several weeks or months for you to see or feel the benefits but do not stop taking it unless your doctor tells you to.
Topocan 2.5mg Injection is an anti-cancer medication. It works by suppressing the activity of an enzyme (topoisomerase I) involved in DNA multiplication of the cancer cells. This slows the growth of cancer cells and eventually kills them.
Topotecan (Hycamtin), a semisynthetic water-soluble derivative of camptothecin, is a potent inhibitor of DNA topoisomerase I in vitro and has demonstrated encouraging antitumour activity in a wide variety of tumours, including ovarian cancer and small cell lung cancer.

Topotecan Injection is indicated for the treatment of chemotherapy-sensitive small cell lung cancer (SCLC) after failure of first-line chemotherapy. Chemotherapy-sensitive SCLC is defined as responding to first-line chemotherapy but subsequently progressing at least 60 days after chemotherapy.
