Torsinex 10mg Injection helps your body get rid of extra water and salt through urine. It is commonly used to treat people with excess fluid build-up due to heart failure, liver or kidney disease. It is injected into a vein under the supervision of a doctor. Your doctor may monitor your blood pressure after giving this medicine.Common side effects of this medicine include headache, dizziness, dehydration, decreased blood pressure, and stomach upset. These are usually mild and disappear after a short time. Consult your doctor if they bother you or do not go away.
Torsinex 10mg Injection works by increasing the amount of urine produced. This helps your body get rid of extra water thereby relieving symptoms such as shortness of breath and swelling in your arms, legs, or abdomen.
The pharmacokinetics of torasemide are significantly influenced by liver disease. Total plasma clearance of torasemide was reduced to about half of that found in the control group, yielding an increase in elimination half-life.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Torsemide acts on electrolyte channels in the renal tubules. Significant adverse events include electrolyte abnormalities, photosensitive reactions, and hypotension. Contraindications to use are sulfa allergy, anuria, and hepatic coma.
Torsinex 10mg Injection is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Torsinex 10mg Injection. Please consult your doctor.
Torsinex 10mg Injection is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Hypertension (not a first-line agent)[5]: Initial oral dose is 5 mg once daily, and the dose may increase to 10 mg daily after 4 to 6 weeks.
Salicylates. Taking torsemide with high doses of drugs called salicylates can cause the levels of the salicylate in your blood to become dangerously high.
Cholestyramine. Cholestyramine may stop your body from absorbing the right amount of torsemide.
Probenecid.
Lithium.

Take potassium supplements or potassium-rich diet (banana, spinach, coconut water, etc.) as Torsinex 10mg Injection can decrease your potassium levels and lead to dehydration.
You may be asked to get regular blood tests done to monitor your kidney function.

Q. Is Torsinex 10mg Injection stronger than Furosemide?
Both Torsinex 10mg Injection and furosemide are almost similar in terms of safety and effectiveness. The only difference is that Torsinex 10mg Injection has a longer duration of action in comparison to furosemide but the effect of both starts within an hour of intake.
Q. Does Torsinex 10mg Injection cause loss of potassium?
Torsinex 10mg Injection may not cause direct potassium loss. But, in some cases, its use may cause excess loss of water which may lead to dehydration. This, as a result, may cause loss of potassium, sodium, calcium and magnesium.

Yes, Torsinex 10mg Injection may cause a mild increase in creatinine values depending on the dose you are taking. These increased creatinine levels may increase slightly more when this medicine is used for long term. However, with discontinuation of the treatment, these levels return to their base value.

Torsinex 10mg Injection is used in emergency conditions to lower very high blood pressure (hypertensive crisis). It lowers and normalizes blood pressure rapidly, thus preventing heart attack or stroke.
