Trazine LS Tablet is used in the treatment of schizophrenia. It may also be used for the short term to treat anxiety when other medications have not worked. It alters the thoughts and elevates the mood, improving the person’s ability to think, feel, and behave.
Trazine LS Tablet should be taken with food, preferably at the same time each day. Take it at the same time each day as this helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body. Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor and if you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember it. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. It is important that this medication is not stopped suddenly without talking to your doctor as it may worsen your symptoms.
Some common side effects of this medicine include dry mouth, abnormality of voluntary movements, urinary retention, constipation, and muscle rigidity. Initially, this medicine may cause a sudden drop in blood pressure when you change positions, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down. It may also cause dizziness and sleepiness, do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you.
Before taking it, inform your doctor if you are suffering from thyroid or kidney problems, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, glaucoma, or any heart problems. You should not take this medicine if you are under the influence of alcohol or any sleep-inducing, cough, and/ or allergy medication. This medicine can also lead to weight gain, eat a healthy balanced diet, avoid snacking with high-calorie food, and exercise regularly.
Trifluoperazine blocks postsynaptic mesolimbic dopaminergic D1 and D2 receptors in the brain; depresses the release of hypothalamic and hypophyseal hormones and is believed to depress the reticular activating system thus affecting basal metabolism, body temperature, wakefulness, vasomotor tone, and emesis
Trifluoperazine is a phenothiazine used to treat depression, anxiety, and agitation. A phenothiazine with actions similar to chlorpromazine. It is used as an antipsychotic and an antiemetic

Trazine LS Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.
Trazine LS Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
This medication is an antibacterial and antifungal agent, prescribed for acne and disinfections of skin.
Triclosan binds to enoyl-acyl carrier protein reductase enzyme (ENR). This complex has increased affinity for NAD+ and forms a ternary complex. This complex is unable to participate in fatty acid synthesis, weakening the cell membrane and causing cell death. Humans do not have an ENR enzyme, and thus are not affected

You have been prescribed Trazine LS Tablet for the treatment of schizophrenia or short-term anxiety.
It may cause less weight gain as compared to other similar medicines.
Take it at bedtime to avoid feeling sleepy during the day.
Use caution while driving or doing anything that requires concentration as Trazine LS Tablet can cause dizziness and sleepiness.
To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down.
Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can cause increased sedation.
Inform your doctor if you experience abnormal movements, particularly of the face, lips, jaw and tongue, while taking this medicine.
It may increase your blood sugar and cholesterol level. Eat healthy, exercise regularly and monitor your blood levels regularly.
Don't stop taking Trazine LS Tablet without talking to your doctor first as it may cause worsening of symptoms.
