Trezam 500mg Injection is given as a drip (intravenous infusion) or as an injection directly into a vein or a muscle under the supervision of a healthcare professional. It should be used regularly at evenly spaced time intervals as prescribed by your doctor. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping the medicine too early may lead to the infection returning or worsening.

Rash, vomiting, nausea, and diarrhea may be seen as the most common side effects. Temporary pain, swelling, and redness at the injection site may also occur at the injection site. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects persist or if your condition does not improve despite treatment.

Inform your doctor if you have any previous history of allergy or heart problems before taking this medicine. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using this medicine.

Basic Information

Mechanism Of Action

Trezam 500mg Injection is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing them from forming the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is needed for them to survive.

Pharmacokinets

In inflamed meninges, penetration of aztreonam into CSF is more rapid than with uninflamed meninges. Diffusion through the placenta is poor, as is diffusion into breast milk. The main route of elimination of aztreonam is by the kidney, partly by active tubular excretion, but this can be inhibited by probenecid.
