Tridep 10 MG Tablet may cause some common side effects like dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite stomach upset, indigestion and, constipation. Do not drive vehicles or operate machines as it may cause dizziness and drowsiness. It may cause intense vertigo or dizziness when you suddenly stand up, so it is advised that you rise slowly and with support, if you have been sitting or lying positions. It may also lead to weight gain in some people. Inform your doctor if any of these side effects persist or worsen.


Tridep 10 MG Tablet should be taken with food or as prescribed by your doctor. Take this medicine every day at the same time for the ease of remembering. Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor as it may cause withdrawal symptoms and even cause changes in your mood.


Tridep 10 MG Tablet may not be suitable for all people. It is not recommended for use in children below the age of 12 years. Avoid taking this medicine if you have liver problems. Mechanism Of Action

Tridep 10 MG Tablet works by increasing the levels of a chemical substance called serotonin in the brain that helps in regulating the mood and treats depression, anxiety attacks and OCD, thereby helping restore normal brain function.


Pharmacokinets

After reaching the systemic circulation, clomipramine is further biotransformed into demethyl-clomipramine, and both active principles are hydroxylated to metabolites which are further conjugated before being excreted in urine.

Contra Indications

Indications

Clomipramine is used off-label to treat patients with depression, anxiety, treatment-resistant depression, cataplexy syndrome, insomnia, neuropathic pain, chronic pain, body dysmorphic disorder, panic disorder, premature ejaculation, pediatric nocturnal enuresis, and trichotillomania.

Interactions

Drug-Drug Interaction: CLOMIPRAMINE may have interaction with antiparkinson drug (selegiline, levodopa), antibiotic (pentamidine, rifampicin), antipsychotic drugs (pimozide), opioid pain killers (buprenorphine, morphine, codeine), blood thinners (warfarin), monoamine oxidase inhibitors used to treat depression (moclobemide, phenelzine, tranylcypromine), antidepressants (fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, amitriptyline, sertraline, venlafaxine, dothiepin, maprotiline), antimanic drug (lithium), anticonvulsants (phenytoin, carbamazepine, phenobarbital, valproate), painkillers (aspirin), antacids (cimetidine), water tablets (furosemide), anti-allergic drug (terfenadine), medicines used to treat high blood pressure (betanidine, reserpine, guanethidine, clonidine), heart-related medicines (isoprenaline, amiodarone, quinidine, disopyramide, procainamide, epinephrine, diltiazem, verapamil), HIV drugs (ritonavir, indinavir).

Drug-Food Interaction: Avoid grapefruit, grapefruit juice, and cranberry juice as they may interact with CLOMIPRAMINE and increase the levels of CLOMIPRAMINE in the body leading to more adverse effects. Also, avoid intake of alcohol while taking CLOMIPRAMINE as it may increase side effects such as drowsiness, blurred vision, or confusion.

Drug-Disease Interaction: If you have fits, low blood pressure, mania, glaucoma, difficulty in urination, a blood disorder, hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid gland), severe constipation, pheochromocytoma (tumor of the adrenal gland), low potassium levels in blood, kidney, liver or heart problems, inform your doctor before taking CLOMIPRAMINE.

Effects Of Missed Dosage

Take the missed dose of Tridep 10 MG Tablet as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.
