Troxip Tablet is a prescription medicine used in the treatment of stomach ulcers. This medicine gets absorbed in the digestive tract and increases blood flow in the inner layer of stomach.


Troxip Tablet increases the production of mucus and other substances in the stomach thereby helps to heal ulcers in the stomach. You should take this medicine in a dose and duration as advised by your doctor. It is taken with food, preferably at the same time each day to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body.


It may cause some common side effects like headache and constipation. In such cases increase in fluid intake can provide much help. Remember before taking this medicine it is better to inform the doctor if you have any liver disease as dose of your medicine needs to be adjusted. Doctor may advice for regular monitoring of liver enzymes especially when this medicine is used for a longer time. In case of rise of the liver enzymes, you need to stop the medicine and consult a doctor. This medicine is not recommended for children.

Troxipide inhibits H. pylori-derived urease, a multimeric nickel-containing enzyme that catalyses the hydrolysis of urea to yield ammonia and carbonic acid, which damage host tissues and trigger inflammatory response, including recruitment of leukocytes and triggering of the oxidative burst in neutrophils

Pharmacokinets

Troxipide is a drug used in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease. Troxipide is a systemic non-antisecretory gastric cytoprotective agent with anti-ulcer, anti-inflammatory and mucus secreting properties irrespective of pH of stomach or duodenum.

Indications

Troxipide is used for the treatment of peptic ulcers, gastroesophageal reflex disease, to manage gastric mucosal lesions (erosion, hemorrhage, redness and edema) in acute gastritis and acute exacerbation of chronic gastritis

Troxipide is preferably taken after meals.

Effects Of Missed Dosage

If you miss a dose of Troxip Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
