Common side effects of Troxy 50 MG Suspension are diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, changes in sense of taste, weakness, nausea, and vomiting. Use it cautiously in individuals with liver problems. It should only be used to treat or prevent infections that are caused by bacteria.
Once an antibiotic is started, it is always recommended to finish the entire course of treatment. You can take/administer Troxy 50 MG Suspension on an empty stomach at least 15 minutes before food. For the ease of remembering, take this antibiotic at around the same time every day.
Troxy 50 MG Suspension is an antibiotic. It works by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Thus, it stops the bacteria from growing, and prevents the infection from spreading.
In humans, roxithromycin is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract producing peak levels (Cmax) within 2 h. The drug is eliminated with a half-life (T1/2) of about 10 h. Roxithromycin is not extensively metabolized. Approximately 53% is excreted in the faeces and about 10% of the dose is eliminated in urine.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Roxithromycin is indicated for the treatment of the following mild to moderately severe infections in children caused by or likely to be caused by susceptible micro-organisms: acute pharyngitis, acute tonsillitis and impetigo.
Roxithromycin does not interact with hormonal contraceptives, prednisolone, carbamazepine, ranitidine or antacids. When roxithromycin is administered with theophylline, some studies have shown an increase in the plasma concentration of theophylline.
Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use.

Do not panic. Unless your child’s doctor has advised a specific regime for your child, you can give the missed dose as soon as you remember. But, if it is nearly time for the next dose, just give the next dose at the right time. Do not double the dose.

Is it safe to consume alcohol while taking this medicine?
Interaction with alcohol is unknown. It is advisable to consult your doctor before consumption.
Is this a habit forming medicine?
No habit forming tendency has been reported for Troxy 50 MG Suspension.
Can this medicine be taken during pregnancy?
Troxy 50 MG Suspension is generally safe in pregnancy to treat bacterial infections. It is not known to cause any harm to the fetus. However, in early pregnancy, it can increase the risk of major birth defects and therefore should only be used upon your doctor's recommendation.
