Common side effects of Troxy 50 MG Tablet are diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, changes in sense of taste, weakness, nausea, and vomiting. Use it cautiously in individuals with liver problems. It should only be used to treat or prevent infections that are caused by bacteria.
Once an antibiotic is started, it is always recommended to finish the entire course of treatment. You can take Troxy 50 MG Tablet on an empty stomach at least 15 minutes before food. For the ease of remembering, take this antibiotic at around the same time every day.
Troxy 50 MG Tablet works by stopping the bacterial protein synthesis that is essential for its growth. Thus it kills or stops the growth of bacteria.
In humans, roxithromycin is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract producing peak levels (Cmax) within 2 h. The drug is eliminated with a half-life (T1/2) of about 10 h. Roxithromycin is not extensively metabolized. Approximately 53% is excreted in the faeces and about 10% of the dose is eliminated in urine.
