This medicine kills or stops the growth of bacteria causing the infection. It is not effective against infections caused by viruses.
Common side effects of Troxy 75 MG Tablet are diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, changes in sense of taste, weakness, nausea, and vomiting. Use it cautiously in individuals with liver problems. It should only be used to treat or prevent infections that are caused by bacteria.
Once an antibiotic is started, it is always recommended to finish the entire course of treatment. You can take Troxy 75 MG Tablet on an empty stomach at least 15 minutes before food. For the ease of remembering, take this antibiotic at around the same time every day.
Roxithromycin interferes with the protein synthesis of bacteria, thereby inhibiting bacterial growth and helps in reducing the infection.
In humans, roxithromycin is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract producing peak levels (Cmax) within 2 h. The drug is eliminated with a half-life (T1/2) of about 10 h.
