Uniwarfin 2mg Tablet is an oral anticoagulant which helps prevent the formation of harmful blood clots in the legs, lungs, brain and heart. It is used for deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism and stroke prevention.


Uniwarfin 2mg Tablet should be taken as advised by the doctor. You may take it with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time. This medicine should not be stopped abruptly without consulting the doctor. You should take this medicine regularly to get the most benefit, even if you feel fine. It is preventing future harm.


Use of this medicine may increase your risk of bleeding. Let your doctor know immediately if you see pinpoint rash or blood in your vomits, urine, or stool. Mechanism of action — Warfarin and related vitamin K antagonists (VKAs) block the function of the vitamin K epoxide reductase complex in the liver, leading to depletion of the reduced form of vitamin K that serves as a cofactor for gamma carboxylation of vitamin K-dependent coagulation factors

Pharmacokinets

Warfarin is essentially completely absorbed, reaching a maximum plasma concentration between 2 and 6 hours. It distributes into a small volume of distribution (10 L/70kg) and is eliminated by hepatic metabolism with a very small clearance (0.2 L/h/70kg). The elimination half-life is about 35 hours

A blood clot in or near the heart that could trigger stroke, heart attack or organ damage. A blood clot in the lungs (pulmonary embolism) A blood clot elsewhere in the body (venous thrombosis) Certain irregular heart rhythms (arrhythmias), such as atrial fibrillation, which increases blood clot risk.

The metabolism of Zotepine can be decreased when combined with Amiodarone. Zotepine may increase the antipsychotic activities of Amisulpride. Zotepine may increase the central nervous system depressant (CNS depressant) activities of Amitriptyline
