Urispas Tablet is best taken with food. This will prevent you from getting an upset stomach. Swallow the medicine as a whole without crushing or chewing it. You should not stop taking the medicine without consulting the doctor as it may lead to the worsening of your symptoms.
Some common side effects of this medicine are nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, headache, sweating, and nervousness. The side effects may be avoided by drinking plenty of water. It may also make you feel dizzy or sleepy, so it advised not to drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you. If any of the side effects bother you or persist, consult the doctor without delay.
Before receiving the treatment, inform your doctor if you are on any medication for any health conditions. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, tell your doctor prior to the treatment. Glaucoma (a disease associated with increased eye pressure) patients should be extra careful while receiving the treatment, and they must inform the doctor before initiating it.
Myolytic activity of papaverine and flavoxate do not involve inhibition of prostaglandins synthesis in rat urinary bladder in vitro. Therefore, the mode of action of flavoxate can be related to a superimposition of myotropic, calcium antagonistic and local anaesthetic activity.
Flavoxate is a spasmolytic flavone derivative that acts by relaxing the smooth muscle in the urinary tract. Flavoxate is a competitive muscarinic receptor antagonist indicated for the treatment of overactive bladder with symptoms of urge urinary incontinence, urgency, and urinary frequency.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Urispas Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Urispas Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.
Urispas Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

If you miss a dose of Urispas Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
