Vent Tablet is a combination medicine which has active ingredients as theophylline and salbutamol. Both the medicines that works by relaxing the muscles around the airways in the lungs (bronchodilator). Theophylline in addition deals with the inflammatory reaction in the lungs thereby reducing the swelling and relieving the feeling of chest tightness.
The pharmacokinetics of salbutamol in dogs and cats have not been studied. In humans, when administered by inhalation, salbutamol produces significant bronchodilation within 15 min that lasts for 3–4 h. It is also generally well absorbed orally and may have broncho- dilatory effects for up to 8 h.

This medicine should be taken during pregnancy only if considered essential by the doctor as limited safety data is available in pregnant women. If you get pregnant while on treatment, contact your doctor immediately.
It is not recommended to consume alcohol with Vent Tablet as it may increase the risk of side-effects
Vent Tablet passess into breastmilk. Thus, its use is not recommended while breastfeeding unless prescribed by the doctor.
Salbutamol is used to relieve symptoms of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) such as coughing, wheezing and feeling breathless. It works by relaxing the muscles of the airways into the lungs, which makes it easier to breathe. Salbutamol comes in an inhaler (puffer).
The therapeutic efficacy of Salbutamol can be decreased when used in combination with Acebutolol. The risk or severity of hypertension can be increased when Salbutamol is combined with Aceclofenac. The risk or severity of hypertension can be increased when Salbutamol is combined with Acemetacin.
Swallow it whole with a glass of water, do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
It would be best if you took it at a fixed time for optimal results.

If you have missed to take any dose of this medicine then take it as soon as you remember. If it is already time for the next dose then skip the missed dose and follow the regular dosing schedule.
If you have taken too much of this medicine then contact your doctor or reach out to the nearest hospital immediately.
Symptoms of overdose may include nausea and severe vomiting, restlessness, fits, uncontrolled jerky limb movements.

You are allergic to the active ingredient theophylline and/or salbutamol

You have an overactive thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism)
You are suffering from liver and/or kidney disease
You have fits or seizures
You have stomach ulcers
You are a male having difficulty in passing urine (prostate gland)
You have a viral infection
You suffer from a life-threatening condition - cystic fibrosis
You are a smoker or have an alcohol addiction
Vent Tablet should be taken as directed by your doctor.

Q: Can I stop taking Vent Tablet, as my symptoms have been relieved?
A: It is always recommended that you should follow your doctors recommendation for dose and duration. Stopping the treatment in between may aggravate the risk and worsen the symptoms of asthma and respiratory illness
