Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a condition in which your body does not make enough insulin, and or the insulin produces does not work. When this happens, your body makes too much of sugar (i.e. glucose) which gets build up in the blood resulting in serious health problems.
Your blood sugar will be monitored by your doctor periodically, with regular blood test, including your blood sugar level and your hemoglobin A1C. Stay on exercise and diet as prescribed by your doctor while taking this medicine.
Before taking this medicine tell your doctor if you have ever had kidney disease, heart disease or pancreas problems. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking this medicine.
The anti-hypoglycaemic action of voglibose results from a reversible inhibition of membrane bound intestines α glycosidase hydrolize enzymes which hydrolize oligosaccharides and disaccharides to glucose and other monosaccharides in the brush border of the small intestine.
voglibose is poorly absorbed after oral administration. However, systematic adverse effects have been observed. Metabolism: the metabolism of voglibose in liver is negligible. Excretion: The renal excretion is negligible and plasma concentations after oral dose have been undetectable

Voglibose is contraindicated in: Hypersensitivity to the drug or to any of its components. Diabetic ketoacidosis. Inflammatory bowel diease, colonic ulcerations or partial intestinal obstructions and patients being predisposed to intestinal obstruction.
VOGS 0.2MG should be used with caution in pregnant women. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
Consumption of alcohol is not recommended during treatment with VOGS 0.2MG.

Indications. Voglibose is used in DM for reduction in PPHG, only when diet and/or exercise with lifestyle modification or OHAs or insulin preparations, in addition to diet and/or exercise, do not result in an adequate glycaemic control
Insulin glulisine The risk or severity of hypoglycemia can be increased when Voglibose is combined with Insulin glulisine.
Insulin human The risk or severity of hypoglycemia can be increased when Voglibose is combined with Insulin human.

Diabetic ketoacidosis
Inflammatory bowel disease, colonic ulcerations or partial intestinal obstructions and patients being predisposed to intestinal obstruction
Chronic disorder associated with marked disorders of digestion or absorption, with conditions that may deteriorate as a result of increased gas formation in the intestine

How does VOGS 0.2MG works?
It works by inhibiting the intestinal enzymes responsible for breaking complex sugars into simple sugars such as glucose. This prevents blood glucose levels from rising very high immediately after meals.
Can I take VOGS 0.2MG during pregnancy?
It should be used with caution in pregnant women. Consult your doctor before taking.
Can VOGS 0.2MG cause Constipation?
Yes, this medicine may cause constipation in some individuals. Take fibre rich foods such as fresh fruit, vegetables and cereals, and drink plenty of water. Exercise more regularly.
